Columbia University began revoking the passes of Jewish professors. A Columbia University professor who has been a vocal critic of the administration’s response to the ongoing anti-Israel student protests was barred from campus Monday after he tried to lead a pro-Jewish rally at the Ivy League college. Israel-born Shai Davidai, an assistant professor at Columbia Business School and an outspoken supporter of the Jewish state, was told that his ID had been “deactivated” — even as a massive new tent city sprang up on the Morningside Heights campus with some 200 protesters — all of whom would have had to use their Columbia IDs to get in. He said administrators told him they banned him from campus because they could not ensure his safety.

The Strange Tail of the Daedra
Those who have been following me for a while will probably know of the species I created a while back called the Daedra. You might also notice that they share their name with a certain group from The Elder Scrolls. Would you believe me if I told you this wasn't intentional? I legitimately had no idea that they would share a name with entities from such a popular franchise because I am just not that well versed in the Elder Scrolls at all. The origins of their name actually came from Daedalic which has its roots in Daedalus from Greek myth. I bounced around with different permutations of this, considering Daedal, Daedali, Daeda, and several others before finally settling on Daedra as the best sounding of the different versions I came up with. With that decided I set about creating the species and posting them. Little did I know that I had just stuck my foot into an entirely different mess with their name. So yeah, that is how the Daedra got their name and why I am not
